Girl Scouts of Reelfoot Council

The Girl Scouts of Reelfoot Council was established January 13, 1959 to offer a centralized organization/office for the Girl Scouts in West Tennessee. Serving 18 counties, the council offers area girls the opportunity to participate in programs designed specifically for Girl Scouts and their troops. The main office is in Jackson, Tennessee. Camp Hazlewood is a Girl Scout camp in Henry County that offers a variety of programs for girls of all ages. The council bought the 165 acres in February of 1959 and the camp opened in July of the same year.

The Girl Scouts of Reelfoot Council are a part of the Girl Scouts of the USA, the world’s largest voluntary organization for girls and adults. Founded March 12, 1912, by Juliette Gordon Low, Girl Scouts now spans 118 countries with a membership of over 3.5 million girls, ages 5-17.
